Mind-mapping is a great tool to record and develop ideas and processes. There  are number of programs available for the Mac but I find that the best way to create and develop mind-maps is via an iPad. The form factor of the iPad has required programmers to develop interfaces that makes the process of creating so much easier than the typical keyboard and mouse approach.

Several of the Mac based software developers have created IOS versions but to date they come nowhere near the functionality and ease of use of iThoughts HD created  by UK developer Craig Scott. Originally released on the iPhone it really came into its own with the release of the iPad version. Craig has continuously added new features and improvements, the pace of the development puts larger software developers to shame.

A great function is the ability to output the display to a projector. I have used this numerous times in meetings and it never fails to impress the audience.

While iThoughts is only available as an IOS app it can export in all the major mind-mapping formats, images or pdfs. Files can be saved and synchronised to all major cloud storage services.

iThoughts is so far ahead of the pack the competitors may just as well give up.
